Who I am

Welcome to Journaling with Melody! I am Melody Jones, and I love journaling. It has been a powerful force of good in my life, and one day I realized that I could help others develop a journaling practice to get through “this thing called life,” as Prince so aptly put it. I guess now all I need is a little red Corvette and a raspberry beret. But I digress.

I remember wondering who could benefit from passionate, guided help from a believer like myself. Well… everybody! I’m not just a believer - I do have a psychology degree, 20 years social work, a certification as a mindfulness life coach, and a lifetime caffeine romance with coffee to propel me through it all.

I help out folks experiencing tough stuff or those who simply want to move forward in life in a more mindful way, including:

  • Caregivers

  • Women’s groups

  • Grief groups

  • Support groups of all types

  • Addiction recovery groups

  • Therapy groups

I customize journaling to your specific group! I work remotely via Zoom and can facilitate in-person groups (Western Colorado). Travel to other parts of the state, and beyond, is a possibility. Just write and ask.

More about me: I am a Colorado native residing on the western side of the state in Grand Junction, about 30 miles from the Utah border. I’m a former social worker of 20 years, published author and award-winning poet, president of the Western Colorado Writers’ Forum, coffee enthusiast, erstwhile newspaper delivery person in my 50s (!), supporter of the creative arts, maker of journals (junk and otherwise), and a lover of beagles and the Colorado Rocky Mountains.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I can’t wait to introduce you to journaling.
