Journaling for Caregivers
Time to practice self-care!
Journaling Workshops and Services - coming soon
Workshops are offered in-person in Western Colorado at varying locations, sometimes through a partner agency. Melody also offers virtual journaling sessions conducted on Zoom.
Journaling workshop formats vary from one session to multi-week sessions, in a 3-, 4-, or 5-week series format. Experience shows that caregivers get the most benefit from multi-week sessions because this anchors journaling techniques and habits and allows participants to connect with other caregivers on similar journeys. It also allows for ample processing and reflection of journaling moments.
Customized Journaling Workshops Available
Melody works with all types of groups beyond caregivers, including women’s groups, grief groups, addiction recovery groups, retirement communities, senior centers, and more.

Time to get your journaling on!
For Caregivers
Caregiving is one of the most deeply demanding roles a person can hold. Whether you are caring for a person with dementia, a partner navigating illness, or walking with someone through the final chapter of their life, you give continuously.
How often do you pause for self-care? (Not often enough??)
Journaling for Caregivers with Melody Jones is designed specifically for you. Melody’s journaling workshops create a warm, welcoming space where participants can write, reflect, and share at their own comfort level.
Sessions include a variety of journaling styles and practices, so that you can explore and find what best works for you. If you participate in a series, “heartwork” is included to keep you moving forward at home (that’s Melody’s better word for homework!).
Feel more grounded. Less alone. More supported.
No writing experience is necessary! Writings may be shared with a trusted group of fellow caregivers, but this is never required. The only rule Melody brings to the room is the one that changes everything: leave the critic at the door.
What Journaling Offers
Helps You Stay Present
Journaling anchors you in the moment and stops ruminating (worrying excessively) in its tracks. We focus on the now, and it’s more powerful than you may realize.
Helps You Process Without Pretending
Journaling allows you to explore the full range of emotions and experiences that come with a caregiving role, including those you may never talk about. You can write anything you want on a journal page without judgment or worry.
Helps You Reclaim Your Sense of Self
Journaling helps you focus on who you are outside of your caregiving role, something you may have set aside. This alone increases your happiness level and decreases your stress level!
Helps You Feel Better Every Day
A daily journaling practice is powerful and can be done even with a caregiver schedule. You’ll walk away with journaling styles, techniques, and prompts to keep you journaling long past workshops with Melody.
