Journaling Through Menopause
(and perimenopause)
(and postmenopause)
(can we just pause already??)
When Your Hormones Choose Chaos, Write It Down.
A journaling practice during perimenopause and menopause can and does help you feel human again!
Perimenopause and Menopause
AKA: Why Do I Feel Like This and Is It Normal?
If you’re in perimenopause or menopause, you’re not losing it (ok, maybe just a little). You’re living through a full-body hormonal remix you didn’t ask for. And I should know - I’m right there with you!
This season can come with:
Mood swings that hit like surprise pop quizzes
Brain fog so thick you forget words you’ve been using for decades
Emotions that feel bigger, louder, and harder to shake
Stress tolerance that has quietly packed its bags
A nagging sense that you don’t recognize yourself anymore
Hormones like estrogen and progesterone are fluctuating, declining, and generally choosing chaos. Meanwhile, life keeps life-ing - work, relationships, old responsibilities, new responsibilities (anyone an empty nester? also taking care of aging parents??) — expecting you to show up like nothing’s happening.
Well, something is happening.
Why Journaling Helps
(and No, Not the Cutesy “Dear Diary, I Think Joey is Cute” Kind)
This isn’t “write three gratitudes and manifest calm.” This is real-life, get-it-out-before-you-snap journaling! Because I’ve been right where you are!
A consistent journaling practice gives you a place to:
Release emotions without filtering, fixing, or apologizing - because journal pages don’t get offended
See patterns instead of questioning your sanity
Lower stress before it spills onto people you love
Reconnect with who you are becoming, and process the grief or anger about who you used to be
And yes, also find the gratitude and positives - because they are there
Journaling becomes a low-pressure, zero-judgment tool for emotional processing, clarity, and self-trust, especially when everything feels unpredictable.
Think of Journaling Through Menopause As:
Mental hygiene for a hormonally chaotic era.
Cheaper than therapy.
Safer than screaming into the void.
And significantly less expensive than bail!
I have BEEN THERE!
Night sweats! Day sweats! Crotch sweats! (wait, is that too personal? I think not.)
I have felt it all, thought it all, and lived it all (ok, a lot of it), and journaling truly helped me navigate the journey.
Here’s some Hot Flash News: female bodies are incredible; it’s really true. And so are female brains, emotions, and experiences. Let’s treat ourselves more kindly through these changes, I say.
I’m here to help you journal your way to less irritability, greater peace, and fewer crotch sweats. Ok, I can’t help with crotch sweats. I frankly don’t know how to help with that. Burned right through 100 bottles of a certain brand name of deodorant crotch-safe powder. (But I DO have empathy!! Lawdy, yes.)

I get it!
Hey, I’ve been where you are, sweating my way through perimenopause and menopause. We’re all going to navigate this part of life, and I’m here to tell you that there is a simple but powerful tool to get you through to the other side. Yes, journaling! If it can bring me more sanity, it can help you, too! Seriously.
My mantra: pages before punching!
